KILCAR were much too strong for Glenfin as the 2017 Donegal SFC eased their way to a home quarter-final.
Glenfin 0-6 Kilcar 1-18
Glenfin put it up to Kilcar in the first half and were 0-6 to 0-2 behind in added time at the end of the first half.
Just when the home side looked like they might make a real fist of it, Kilcar hit a goal as Ciaran McGinley seized on a defensive error and hammered to the net.
McGinley’s goal put Kilcar seven points ahead at the interval.
Ryan McHugh and Patrick McBrearty kept Kilcar on top while a brave block by Brian O’Donnell prevented Ross Marley from netting a goal for Glenfin.
Kilcar were still without Matthew McClean and Stephen McBrearty, but ran out 15-point winners and have St Michael’s to visit Towney in a play-off in two weeks’ time.
