CIARAN MCGEADY WAS on fire for Glenea United Reserves in Saturday’s Ulster Junior Shield final.
McGeady scored FOUR times as Glenea overcame Killylough Reserves at Gortakeegan to secure a memorable treble for the Glaserchoo men.
Glenea were the Glencar Inn Saturday Reserve League winnes this season and they overcame Glencar Celtic to win the Voodoo Venue Cup earlier this month.
On Saturday, they added the Ulster Junior Shield.
McGeady opened the scoring as he powered home a header from Shane Ferry’s corner in the 22nd minute.
Glenea were three up at half-time with McGeady having secured his hat-trick before the changeover.
McGeady got free for the second and made no mistake with an expert finish before a delicate chip gave Conor Lavery, the Killylough ‘keeper, no chance.
Seven minutes into the second half Aodhán Ó Fearraigh added to the tally, and, on the hour mark, McGeady smashed home at the near post for his fourth and Glenea’s fifth.
