Matthew McCole has reached the final of the Haringey Box Cup in London – and will joust in the 64kgs decider tomorrow.
Dungloe ABC puncher McCole (above, right) saw off Ewan Jenkins from Islington Boxing Club 5-0 in this evening’s semi-final.
Letterkenny Institute of Technology students McCole had beaten Jordan McIntosh in a quarter-final yesterday at the Great Hall of Alexandra Palace.
McCole will face Sam Noakes of Westree ABC in the final.
Noakes overcame Evolve Boxing Academy’s Courtney Frimpong in his semi-final, also on a unanimous decision.
The Haringey Cup is celebrating it’s tenth anniversary year, having been established as one of Europe’s largest and most prestigious tournaments for club boxers.
Jim McCole of Dungloe ABC and Donegal native Paddy Gallagher are two of the Irish coaches for the tournament.
