MATTHEW McCole begins his Ulster Elite bid on Thursday night.
Dungloe native McCole, fighting for the Illies Golden Gloves, takes on Tiernan Duffy.
The LYIT student faces up to Clonard man Duffy at The Devenish.
Southpaw McCole won the Irish Senior welterweight title in November when he overcame Mark Sammon from Galway.
Eugene McKeever of Holy Family, Drogheda, stopped Duffy in last year’s Ulster final.
Carndonagh woman Rosemary Doherty is the other Donegal entrant in these Championships. Doherty also won an Irish Senior title in November, when she overcame Illies’ Caroline Gallagher.
Doherty fights out of St Francis BC in Limerick, where she is at college.
