FORMER FINN HARPS striker will be the club’s guest of honour for Friday night’s SSE Airtricity League Division One play-off second leg with UCD.
The 33-year-old (pictured above right with Harps captain Kevin McHugh) from Greencastle is Derry City’s record goalscorer of all-time and was diagnosed with a Grade Four brain tumor earlier this year having been fighting brain cancer for six years.
Farren, his wife Terri-Louise and nutritionist Sinead Kelly travelled to Tijuana, Mexico in the summer where Farren had four weeks of intensive treatment. A fundraising drive helped with a over £45,000 pledged to the Mark Farren Fund.
Last week, Donegal Sport Hub showed the progress Farren has been making in his rehabilitation.
Harps, who Farren made one appearance for in the 2000/01 season, won the first leg last week against UCD 1-0 in Dublin with Ciaran Coll heading the only goal of the game.
Finn Harps FC is delighted to announce that Mark Farren will be our Guest of Honour at Fridays nights play-off game VS UCD
