MARK English gets his 2020 season up and running on Saturday at the famous Millrose Games.
English lines up at the Armory New Balance Track & Field Center in New York for an elite 800m race.
English will hope to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and this represents the first competitive steps of the year on that road.
Last year, English won a bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow.
At the Emirates Arena, English finished third behind Spain’s Álvaro de Arriba and Jamie Webb of Great Britain. It was his third European medal.
There was disappointment, however, at the World Championships in September, when he finished seventh in his 800m heat in Doha.
This weekend, English competed at the Millrose Games, the world’s longest-running and most prestigious track and field competition.
English is up against the likes of Erik Sowinski, Bryce Hoppel and Donavan Brazier on Saturday afternoon.
