MARK ENGLISH WILL compete at the World Indoor Championships next week.Athletics Ireland is sending just two athletes to the Championships in Oregon.
English is joined by Rose-Anne Galligan.
Letterkenny man English, who runs under the UCD AC banner, has had a fine start to 2016.
Last month, English won his fourth Irish Indoor 800m title today at the GloHealth National Senior Indoor Championships in Athlone.
Previously, English – who will compete at the Olympic Games in Rio later this year – ran a season’s best of 1:46.99 at the Glasgow Indoor Grand Prix.
At that meet he was beaten only by Poland’s Adam Kszczot – the man who pipped English to gold at last year’s European Indoors in Prague.
In his season opener, English came second Qatar’s Musaeb Balla at the PSD Bank Meeting in Düsseldorf, Germany, while he also won a 500m event in Stockholm.
