Magees put up strong fight against World number 12 seeds at All-England Open

Chloe and Sam Magee put up a strong performance against the World number 12 pair before bowing out of the Yonex All-England Open today.

Against Hong Kong due Chun Hei Lee and Hoi Wah Chau, the Raphoe siblings turned in a top display, but found the going just slightly too tough.

It was a big ask for the Magees against Lee and Chau, who are ranked 12^th in the mixed doubles rankings.

The Magees are listed 33^rd these days and are aiming to rise the ladder to make a tilt for the Tokho Olympics in three years’ time.

Today in Birmingam, Lee and Chau took the first set 21-16 but the Magees hit back and, after winning the second set 21-16, they forced a third set, but it was Lee and Chau who won it and the match with a 21-15 win.
