RAPHOE BROTHERS Sam and Joshua Magee won the men’s doubles at the 2016 Slovenia International Tournament this afternoon.
The Magees overcame Denmark pair Mathias Bay-Smidt and Frederik Søgaard Mortensen of Denmark in a tough match in Medvode.
The Raphoe duo won the first game 21-9, but lost a dramatic and tense second 22-20.
It was down to the decisive third game and the Magees had to come from behind with a late rally to win 21-18.
[adrotate group=”35″]The Magees opened their tournament by defeating Czech Republic pair Matic Ivancic and Matic Turinek 21-10, 21-12 on Friday.
Yesterday, they had to go through two games, first by overcoming England’s Ben Lane and Sean Vendy 21-12, 21-17 and in the semi-final they dispatched Danish men Frederik Aalestrup and Mathias Moldt Baskjaer in three games, 21-15, 15-21, 21-13.
