SEAN MacCumhaills put an end to their bad run of late with a much needed win over Downings.
Sean MacCumhaills 1-13 Downings 0-7
MacCumhaills opened from play with a point from Jamie Keegan and Downings went into the lead with scores from Ronan Gallagher, free, and two other placed balls from Kyle McFadden.
Scoring chances were few and far between in the run up to the water break with Luke Gavigan converting from far out.
O’Leary and McFadden traded points and the goal arrived when Carl Dunnion’s superb finish put MacCumhaills four up at the interval.
The home side dominated the second half from the throw-in with Keegan, O’Leary and O’Reilly on target.
Gary Wilson and Luke Gavigan landed two fine scores and, at the other end, Eoin Gallen had to be alert to snuff out an effort on goal.

Downings’ final three scores of the game came from placed balls but the home side closed the game out with points from Gavin Gallagher, Padhraic Patton and Steven Mulligan.
