In a fine display of point scoring LyIT came in 11 points to 6 at half time.
However Magee rocked Lyit with an goal followed a quick point early in the second half to cut the lead to the minimum.
LyIT replied with points from Jamie Gartlan and Gavin McDaniel, which relieved the pressure on the defence ably led by John Chambers.
Despite dominating possession LyIT struggled to put away a determined Magee.
Withs seven minutes to go a great Magee move was finished with a scrappy goal to level the score.
From this point on LyIT pushed on with scores from midfield and a lovely point from Christopher Gallagher which stretched out the lead again.
Magee battled to the end, but they they could not get the goal they needed.
