Double European medallist Mark English breezed through his heat today, finishing in 1:48.15 and is likely to win his fourth national indoor title tomorrow.
English may yet be selected for the World Indoors.
The UCD AC man said: “It’s always tough to battle out the last 200m on your own. It’s still a solid run and I’m happy with the shape I’m in.”
English will be joined in the final by Finn Valley AC’s Aaron McGlynn. The Glenfin man came second in the heat won by English, McGlynn finishing in 1:56.23.
