Finn Harps are in search of points – and goals – as they take on Sligo Rovers at The Showgrounds tonight.
THE GAME HAS BEEN ABANDONED.
The match ‘MAY’ resume, the announcer tells us. It may not, though. It’s still chucking it down here so it ain’t going to get any drier…
21 mins – The referee and the teams have gone off the pitch, but we’ve no confirmation if the game has been abandoned of if they’re going to try and work on the pitch.
20 mins – the Referee is taking the teams off the pitch here, it seems. Paul Hegarty is fuming down on the sideline.
There is an awful lot of surface water on the pitch here. Lucky the rain was so late in starting…
10 – Coll is fine again. Harps survive as Liam Martin slips one through for Achille Campion, but the offside flag is up. Superb pass from Martin.
8 – Ciaran Coll writhing in agony after a challenge from Liam Martin. Being attended to by Colm O’Neill. Ollie Horgan was livid. Martin escapes punishment. SR 0 FH 0
5 – Kieran Sadlier thumps a shot goalward, but Richard Brush saves. SR 0 FH 0
1 – The game has kicked 0ff at The Showgrounds. SR 0 FH 0
Sligo Rovers: Michael Schlingermann; Robi Adebayo-Rowling, Gavin Peers, Michael Leahy, Regan Donelon; Liam Martin, Pat McCann, Daniel Kearns, Kieran Sadlier, Jimmy Keohane; Achille Campion.
Harps make two changes to their team with Dave Scully and Adam Hanlon returning in place of Michael Funston and Tony McNamee.
Finn Harps: Richard Brush; Ethan Boyle, Keith Cowan, Packie Mailey, Ciaran Coll; Adam Hanlon, Barry Molloy, Gareth Harkin, Dave Scully; Sean Houston, Ruairi Keating.
Harps haven’t score in five games now, since Sean Houston’s match-winner against Galway United in July and are in need of a boost as they take on Dave Robertson’s Bit O’Red.
When these teams met here earlier in the season, it ended in bizarre circumstances as floodlight failure forced the abandonment of the game, but the League ruled that the 1-1 scoreline was allowed stand.
