Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan has warned that Wexford’s lowly position means little ahead of Friday night’s meeting of the teams at Finn Park.
Harps are unbeaten in five – and have taken 13 points from a possible 15 in that time – and haven’t conceded a goal in 469 minutes now.
“There’s a bit of togetherness and you can see that,” Horgan said.
“The positions in the table are out the window for the last five games of the season.”
Harps are well in the mix for one of the promotion play-off spots, but Horgan is certainly not counting any chickens just yet.
Wexford have a good record against Harps in recent times and Horgan expects more than a battle in Ballybofey.
“A bit of a battle?” he wondered. “It will be more than a bit of a battle! Wexford always cause us bother. We’ve had a poor record against them. We stumbled over the line against them at the start of the season and they held Drogheda to a draw with ten men.
“We know they’ll bring huge difficulty. Regardless of their position in the table, Wexford have always been a thorn in our side.”
Harps have recently recruited the likes of Nathan Boyle, Timmie Sobowale, Jacob Borg, John Kavanagh and Niall Logue to their ranks.
And Horgan added: “There’ll be twists and turns, but i don’t think anyone cares as long as we fall over the line.”
