EAMON McConigley admitted that he felt as if a derby draw with Bonagee was ‘no good’ to Letterkenny Rovers yesterday.
Champions Cockhill Celtic won 3-1 against Derry City earlier in the day so the 1-1 draw at Aura Centre between Rovers and Bonagee was surely music to the ears of Gavin Cullen and co.
“It’s no good to us,” McConigley told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub afterwards.
“It would have been better had either one of us got a result. In saying that, it’s still wide open. There is a lot to play for yet.”
BJ Banda’s penalty, just after the hour mark, cancelled out Michéal Doherty’s early strike for Bonagee.
McConigley said: “You have to keep going to the end. A lot can happen and we won’t be throwing in the towel. It makes for some big games.”
