SHAUN Paul Barrett says his Milford side must improve after they ground their way to a two-point win over St Naul’s.
Milford remain unbeaten after a 0-14 to 0-12 win, but Barrett’s men played for 55 minutes against 14 men.
“We made it tight for ourselves,” Barrett told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“We are very disappointed with our performance. We were playing against 14 men for most of the game and we were lucky to get the win.
“You have to perform on the day and we didn’t. The sending off maybe had a bigger effect on us, but we showed great character at the end there.”
The introduction of Tony McNamee, whose departure from Finn Harps was confirmed by the Ballybofey club last night, was a big plus point for Milford.
Barrett said: “Tony is an intelligent player. He was an important cog in the wheel when he come on. That bit of intelligence is hard to beat. He’s back from Harps, he came back on Thursday night and hopefully he’ll give a full commitment now.”
