Letterkenny Rovers manager Eamon McConigley insists his side isn’t looking too far in the distance despite a second win over Cockhill in quick succession.
And while a follow-up win at the home of the champions has others talking, McConigley says his side have retained their focus.
“There is one thing we insisted from at the start of the season: That we would only talk about the next match,” he said.
“The dressing room doesn’t talk about anything else other than the next match. That’s the way it’s going to be. We know the big end has to come yet, but at least we’re putting the points on the board.”
Rovers were pipped at the post last season having taken the League race to a play-off.
McConigley feels his players are growing in confidence and maturity. He said: “We’re learning and this is a great learning curve.
“The younger fellas are maturing. We were always worried about Cockhill in the air, but we’re not weak in the air now. We have players to match it now but two years ago those fellas might have been too young.”
