Martin Regan was a relieved man as Naomh Conaill clung on for dear life to win a third Donegal Comortas Peile na Gaeltachta title in four years.
“It looked like we were in bother,” Regan admitted.
“We seemed out on our feet, but we finished well. We were lucky to hang on, but we’ll take it.
“We just ground it out at the end.”
Naomh Conaill have won two All-Ireland Gaeltacht titles in recent years – and have their minds on another.
Regan said: “It’s a brilliant competition. We’ve taken it very seriously and we’ll be back here in June with the intention of winning the All-Ireland. It’s great to get the games and we’ve had eight games in seven weeks now.”
