Damien McClafferty was delighted to see his Bonagee United side roll their sleeves up last night – and move within a game of a Premier Division return.
in a must-win game, Bonagee fell 1-0 down to Raphoe Town, but late goals from Taylor Russell and Noel O’Donnell clinched the win Bonagee needed to seal a promotion-relegation play-off spot. There, they will play the third-from-bottom team in the Premier.
“It was one of those games where there was very few chances,” McClafferty said.
“When we went now down, it was hard to see where we were going to get one out of. We weren’t creating too many and it was a hard slog. They battled hard and got back in. which shows good team spirit.”
