Donegal League manager Raymond Shields says he’s gearing up for a ‘big battle’ against Sligo-Leitrim on Saturday evening at The Showgrounds.
Following an opening night win over Inishowen and after Inishowen overcame Sligo-Leitrim last weekend, Donegal go in the comfort that even a 1-0 defeat would see them through in the Oscar Traynor Trophy.
But Shields and company are off to the Yeats county with a victory in their minds.
“We go to Sligo for a massive game and we’re taking nothing for granted,” Shields said.
“Sligo are hard to break down and they were missing a good few players on Sunday against Inishowen. We’re under no illusions. We know it will be a very tough task.
“We’re looking forward to a big battle on Saturday. We have to fight for our lives to get through.”
