Ollie Horgan says he’s just glad of the chance to ‘struggle’ in next week’s two-legged promotion-relegation play-off final against Limerick FC.
Harps host the Shannonsiders on Monday night in Finn Park with the return leg in Limerick next Friday. To the victor, a place in next year’s Premier Division, but to the beaten side it will be a year in the First Division.
Horgan typically played down his side’s prospects ahead of the tie.
“It will be a huge, uphill struggle,” he said, “…but better to have that than not have the struggle.
“We’re playing a full-time side that has full-time professional players. We are going to be up against it.
“Limerick have been preparing for the play-offs for the last six weeks. They have their players back fit and have rested players.
“Realistically we need to play at our best and Limerick nowhere near their best. If Limerick play at their best, we will struggle.”
