Ollie Horgan says Finn Harps will have to ‘perform with hunger’ if they are to get the ‘huge bonus’ of taking anything from runaway League leaders Cork City.
Harps dropped into the relegation zone with a 4-0 loss at St Patrick’s Athletic on Friday night, while Cork are 17 points clear at the top of the standings and their coronation as champions is now imminent.
“Cork are a proper, proper side and are 17 points at the head of the League,” Horgan said.
“We’re third from bottom. It will be a massive ask. Sometimes when the expectation is low, these lads can produce.
“Monday night is a game where, if we got something, it would be a huge bonus. If you were a betting man, I don’t think anyone would be putting too much money on us, especially coming off the back of a heavy defeat.
“We need to go and perform with hunger for 95 minutes.”
