Listen: Niall Friel on how ‘level headed’ Gaoth Dobhair

Niall Friel says Gaoth Dobhair were able to stay level headed coming into this afternoon’s semi-final with Sean MacCumhaills.

Gaoth Dobhair lived up to their favourites’ tag with a 13-point win to move into the final, where they’ll meet Naomh Conaill.

“We came in level headed,” Friel said.

“Neil (McGee) nailed it on the head during the week. Once we get ahead of ourselves, as we did in the past, we’ve been knocked out and we focussed this year on getting our own camp right.”

Gaoth Dobhair have hit 11 goals in the last two weekends and Friel added: “Something just clicked, but that was just the way things panned out. As long as we won the game that was the main thing.”
