Mickey Rogers admits he was enjoying his time away from football – but he returned to look after his native Convoy Arsenal this season.
A 4-1 win today in the Ulster Junior Cup against Keadue Rovers continued the Orchard Park men’s good start to the season.
“I felt in the second half, we made a couple of subs and they made the difference,” Rogers, who says he took the job when no-one wanted it, said.
“The boys were very good when they came on. There is good competition for places.
“We got a few boys back on board. If they stay on board, we can challenge.”
