Eamonn McConigley hit out at the scheduling of the FAI Youth Inter-League competition this afternoon after his side was beaten by Mayo.
A 3-0 loss at Ballyare means Donegal’s involvement is over for another season.
However, McConigley blasted the powers that be in Dublin as today’s game clashed with an underage international trial, which deprived him of one of his players, while he felt the distance between games (their last was in November) could also be avoided.
“The competition should be run off over three months or less,” he told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“Teams are pulling out and it would help to keep the competition alive.”
