DONEGAL WERE PUT to the pin of their collar this afternoon but showed the necessary spirit to see off Armagh in the TG4 All-Ireland Ladies SFC quarter-final.
After a 9-21 to 4-8 win over the same opponents in the Ulster final in Enniskillen in June, Donegal reached the last eight courtesy of narrow wins over Tipperary and then Kerry.
However, those tight games certainly stood to Donegal, who this afternoon came through the challenge of a gutsy Armagh at Healy Park to win 0-19 to 1-13 and reach the All-Ireland SFC semi-finals for the first time in their history.
