Lyle Green, of Sheer Sports Management, says there’s no rush to catapult the 27-year-old Quigley – now 15-0 after his win over Freddy Hernandez – under the bright lights.
“If he continues to progress and learn, he will be a world champion,” Quigley said.
“We’re excited about his future. We’ll keep him busy and allow him to work on his craft.
“Jason has had some bad luck and lay-offs and we missed two fights, but the most important thing now is activity. We need activity and Golden Boy are 100 per cent behind us. We’re on the same page.”
Before Quigley’s retention of the NABF middleweight belt in Indio, future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins said the former world silver medallist was a world champion in waiting.
Green added: “That shouldn’t just be passed over. We believe that too, but we don’t have to rush him into anything.”
