Karl Lacey says surviving in Division 2 helped spur Four Masters to victory over Malin today in the Championship.
Last weekend, Four Masters stayed up by the narrowest of margins when Kevin McBrearty’s injury time goal against Glenfin gave them the points they needed to avoid the drop.
Former Donegal star Lacey hit three points in a 1-10 to 0-6 win over Malin at Tir Chonaill Park.
“Throughout the League, it didn’t go so well for us, but we really started to get momentum in the last four or five games,” Lacey said.
“It was very important that we got that wee bit of security in Division 2.
“We have a lot of young lads in there and that was their first taste of Championship football. It’s a good start for us and the mood will be good this week. It gives us a wee bit of confidence.”
