RORY KAVANAGH says Odhrán Mac Niallais’ goal for Gaoth Dobhair last night was a ‘real killer’ for St Eunan’s.
“We were 0-6 to 0-2 up and really in control for large parts of it,” Kavanagh told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub. I
“t’s unfortunate, wild disappointing to concede that goal. It was a real killer.
“We showed good character then. We could have folded when their tails were up, but we got back in possession and regained composure fairly quickly. That was a big positive.”
St Eunan’s failed to come out of the group phase in 2018, but Kavanagh was delighted with the qualities shown by a new-look black and amber in Magheragallon.
The former Donegal star said: “The boys worked really hard. That needed to be our starting point.
“We didn’t want to come here and lie down and be poor. In our last game of the Championship last year against Glenties, we didn’t show any bite. We wanted to play with a bit of pride.”
