Joe Boyle believes the Ulster Senior League is ‘key’ for the future of Finn Harps.
Boyle’s Finn Harps Reserves last night overcame Bonagee United 3-1 thanks to a first-half hat-trick by Connor O’Reilly, an ex-Bonagee schoolboy.
“The Ulster Senior League is key for development,” Boyle said.
“They played against Michael Funston who has over 300 League of Ireland games under his belt. That is hugely beneficial. They need that experience and know-how.
“I thought we played really, really well. The pitch was conducive to how we played and it assisted how we wanted it. We’re delighted, really happy to get the win.”
Midfielder O’Reilly cut his teeth at Dry Arch Park and returned to his old stomping ground in style last night.
Boyle said: “Connor is coming back to where he started out and we’re delighted how he’s playing.
“He’s been around the international under-16 and under-17 teams and we feel he should be breaking through. He has a bright future.”
