Geraldine McLaughlin says Donegal’s young guns are keeping the experience players on their toes.
Donegal’s ladies saw a huge turnaround in players over the winter months, but Maxi Curran’s new-look side has hit the ground running in 2019.
A 3-11 to 3-9 win over Tipperary in Convoy yesterday continued their 100 per cent start to the new season, with McLaughlin among the goalscorers.
“It’s hard to beat a good start,” the Termon woman, who scored 1-5, told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“We didn’t know what to expect with the new ones coming in. Keeping up with them in training is keeping us on our toes. The youth and experience is working in games.”
Donegal were pushed to the pins of their collar by Tipp. Having been ten up at a stage, Donegal scraped home with just two to spare.
McLaughlin said: “It’s good to get a game like that and come out on the right end of it.”
