Gary McCullagh says Leah Gallen ‘stood out’ at the Irish Senior Cadet finals in Dublin yesterday.
Gallen exploded to victory over Sophia Hopkova from Ballyhaunis in the 66kgs final.
A third round stoppage earned the Raphoe ABC ace her second Irish title of 2018 – and the third of her career – having won a Girl 5 crown earlier this year.
“Leah stood out,” Raphoe ABC head coach McCullagh said.
“She was excellent technically and she has a lot of power. When she came to us, she was on her toes, but she moves now when she has to instead of dancing. She let go from the first round in the final.
“It was very, very impressive, especially after a hard semi-final. She was very strong and gave the girl a standing eight count in the first round. She was all-out attack.”
