Donegal Minors emphatically won their opening game in the Ulster Minor Jim Mc Guigan Cup against Fermanagh Minors at Fr. Tierney Park in Ballyshannon.
Following the impressive performance in south Donegal, Donegal Minors manager Gary Duffy spoke to Donegal Sport Hub’s Charlie Collins.
The U17’s display was nothing short of ruthless, especially from Johnny McGroddy (1-6) who was outstanding under difficult conditions.
Despite the striking result, Duffy insisted his side could only play what was in front of them.
Duffy said: “We were favourites, we accepted that and Donegal teams are favourites against Fermanagh and we thought with rain and heavy conditions it could even things up a bit but we stuck to our task.”
