Strand Rovers are shaping up nicely for a title tilt in the Glencar Inn Saturday Division One after going five points clear at the weekend.
A 6-1 win over Cappry Rovers put Strand five in front of Glencar, who have two games in hand.
The win means Strand are unbeaten in 14 games after Conor Green (3), Ryan Green (2) and Shaun Sharkey hit the goals in a big away win.
“We started slowly, but we grew into the game,” Strand boss Packie McHugh said.
“Once we settled down, we played a bit of football and we always have a threat up front.”
While Glencar have ground to make up, they have games on their side.
McHugh hailed the ‘community’ feel to his group and added: “It’s good to have the points on the board. We still have Glencar to play at home.”
