Declan Bonner is delighted to have Donegal back among the ‘big guys’ again as they sealed promotion to Division 1.

A 13-point hammering of Kildare at Fr Tierney Park sees Donegal jump back into the top flight at the first time of asking.
Donegal had too much for an off-colour Kildare to win 1-20 to 0-10.
“It was a good performance,” Bonner told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“It’s nice to get back into Division 1. That’s what we set out to achieve at the start of the year, to get back up with the big guys again.
“We want to be in the top tier, we want to be winning Ulster and in the Super 8s. We’re just like any other team with ambitions.”
Donegal led 0-13 to 0-1 at half-time and were utterly dominant even before Jamie Brennan got in for the only goal of the game.
Bonner said: “We played for 75 minutes and we hadn’t been finishing out games well until now.
“We had some excellent scores in the first half and we were in total control in the second.
“We started well and got the scores on the board. There was a very stiff breeze, but our second half display was very controlled. It was very, very good.”
