Declan Bonner has warned his Donegal squad they have to improve before the visit of Meath to Ballybofey on Saturday night.
After a 0-16 to 0-13 win over Clare in Ennis on Sunday, Donegal, even though the squad is shy of several regulars, are brimming with confidence.
“There is plenty we have to work on,” Bonner cautioned.
“We’ll need to be improved on Saturday night. We’re expecting more than another serious challenge.
“Meath will be no pushovers. This will be a serious test and we have to stand up and be counted.”
The Donegal side, given the dearth of absentees at the moment, has a new-look feel to it now, but the Donegal manager is still demanding high standards.
Bonner said: “Once the game finished on Sunday, it was looking at Meath. Even at this early stage of the season, preparation has to be top class, otherwise you’ll be found out. Our guys have prepared well.”
