DONEGAL MANAGER Declan Bonner insists that he and his players will aim high again in 2020.
Bonner has guided Donegal to back-to-back Ulster titles, but admits that not progressing to an All-Ireland semi-final has been a source of disappointment.
With the new season just around the corner – Donegal will be in McKenna Cup action at the end of December – Bonner says they’re targeting big things again.
“We have the nucleus of a very good squad and we’re always looking for players to come in and make a difference,” Bonner told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub at the launch of the new Donegal jersey today.
“We always aim high. We have been disappointed not to progress out of the Super 8s. We had two big opportunities, but the reality is that we didn’t make it into the last four.”
Donegal’s jerseys are again made by O’Neill’s Sportswear with KN Group and Abbey Hotel remain on board as sponsors.
Bonner said: “We get good support from within Donegal and we need that. It’s a big business now to compete at the top level.
“We need to be dining at the top table. It takes money and it gets more difficult every year, but we have good sponsors in Donegal. We continue to seek and look for new sponsors.”
