Letterkenny Rovers captain Darren McElwaine is hoping to push Cockhill Celtic right to the wire in the Ulster Senior League race.
Cockhill looked to have an unassailable lead a few weeks ago but, with three games to go, Rovers are back within three points.
McElwaine went to the top of the USL goalscoring charts as a brace secured a 2-1 win at Cockhill.
Gerard McLaughlin’s lead goal for the champions and League leaders was cancelled and overturned by McElwaine’s double – and the veteran striker says the pressure is on the Inishowen men now.
“It keeps the pressure on and hopefully now we can take it to the last day of the season,” McElwaine said.
“That’s our big aim now. There was no pressure on us today – we just went for it.
“We’re a good side; we know that. There is no doubt that Letterkenny are a good side.”
