History will be made at Gaelic Park in Bundoran this afternoon as Milford dip their toes into Division 1’s waters for the first time.
Milford have come all the way up from Donegal football’s basement and this afternoon face Bundoran in what is the club’s first ever Division 1 fixture.
“It’s sort of an adventure,” says manager Danny O’Donnell.
“No-one expected Milford to be here, playing their trade in Division 1, but they’re here on merit and we have lads reaching their prime.
“We have a good mix and we have strengthened the squad too.
“We are going in to compete. We aren’t going in to make up the numbers.”
Among those added to the Milford squad is former Finn Harps midfielder Tony McNamee. The Ramelton native is set to play a full part for Milford in the top flight this season.
