HAT-TRICK hero BJ Banda says yesterday’s treble against Fanad United was a case of ‘dusting off the cobwebs’.
Banda netted three as Letterkenny Rovers overcame Fanad to maintain their unbeaten start to the bmcsports.ie Ulster Senior League season.
Banda struck twice in the second half, having opened the scoring, to keep Rovers firmly in the shake-up.
“I’m just dusting off the cobwebs,” Banda told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“It was a long time coming. We were pressing high there. Balls over the top are my trade, running in behind, so it’s good. I’m just happy to get game time and be with the boys.”
Rovers were Donegal News USL League Cup winners last season and although out of the Intermediate Cup, the Cathedral Town men have designs again on silverware.
Banda said: “We’re putting in the extra miles in training. We know it’s a big season. We’re out of the Intermediate and we’re gutted with that, but we’re looking forward to the season.”
