ARTHUR LYNCH says Fanad United will be aiming high as the new bmcsports.ie Ulster Senior League season kicks off this weekend.
Then again, they don’t aim any other way around Traigh-A-Loch.
The 14-times USL champions have had a lean period by their lofty standards, but former centre-back Lynch says Fanad will aim to be competitive again this season.
“We’re going to give it a good crack,” Lynch told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub ahead of their opening League game at Bonagee United on Saturday evening.
“Any League you go into, your aim has to be to win it.
“Realistically, you have one team, Cockhill, that has won everything this last six or seven years and, as far as I’m concerned, it’s up to everyone else to catch them.”
Lynch has brought Brian McVeigh back into the red and black stripes, while Conor Duggan, Matthew McLaughlin and Johnny Logue are among the other new faces at the club.
Lynch said: “We’re happy enough so far. You always want more, but we have good, honest lads willing to play for the shirt.”
