LIAM MARTIN FROM Donegal town opened his account in his second spell at Sligo Rovers with a first minute goal against Galway United tonight.
After just 49 seconds at the Showgrounds this evening, the winger got onto a Ryan Connolly throw-in to score past former Finn Harps goalkeeper Conor Winn in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division clash.
However, Sligo, who welcome Ollie Horgan’s Harps side on Saturday, had to be content with a point as another man who recently plied his trade at Finn Park, Ruairi Keating, levelled it for 1-1.
Meanwhile Buncrana native Mark Timlin scored St Patrick’s Athletic’s opening goal on five minutes in their 3-0 win over Bohemians at Richmond Park. Christy Fagan and Billy Dennehy were also on target in Inchicore.
Ramelton’s Barry McNamee was man of the match in Derry City’s 3-0 victory at Bray Wanderers. Kenny Shiels’ side also included Ronan Curtis from St Johnston, following his winner against Cork City on Friday night.
At the Carlisle Grounds, Aaron Barry and a brace from Rory Patterson sealed the win for Derry.
Ballybofey’s Johnny Dunleavy skippered Cork in their 6-0 hammering of Longford Town.
