Luckily the weather held up for them and Colin had a superb run finishing in second place overall in a time of 31:36. Siobhan had a fine run also, she picked up the prize for the third female crossing the finish line in 36:37.
Glenmore 10-Miler
Glenmore was a popular choice for 24/7 members on Sunday. The weather wasn’t as kind to those taking part in the Finn Valley run event but that didn’t put too much of a dampener on the day with 24/7 members running very well, coming home with super times and lots of PB’s.
Shane McNulty was the first club member to finish in a superb 1:00:23. Not too far behind was Paul Cullen- what a run from Paul.
Paul was delighted crossing the line in a PB time of 1:00:27 – we look forward to a brilliant 2019 season from Paul and his trusted lucky watch.
Paul Dillon also had a fine race, finishing in a PB time of 1:03:16. Paul Doherty was another happy runner, making good progress after surgery; he ran 1:06:22.
Jason King crossed the line in 1:07:15. Terence Diver is also running well crossing the line in 1:09:22. Brian Gormley raced really well showing the long distance also suits him, he finished in 1:09:36. New 24/7 member Eamonn Patton will be one to watch, he had a super run crossing the finish line in 1:10:20.
Just 14 seconds behind, Pat Brady and Fionnuala Larkin were battling it out – Pat finished in 1:10:34 and Fionnuala just 11 seconds behind that in 1:10:45 – two brilliant PB’s for the training buddies. Margaret Kelly is back in action and training well, she had a fine run finishing in 1:14:31.
Philip Browne also ran a PB- 1:15:23, as did Aidan McFadden, finishing over 6minutes ahead of his last PB crossing the line in 1:16:47.
Anne Robinson is also in PB form, shaving almost 4 and a half minutes off her last time, finishing in 1:17:56. Alastair Hetherington ran well with a strong 1:18:40 with Tom Murray not too far behind in 1:19:34.
The three marathon training buddies Rachael Stilvern, Martina McDaid and Desiree Casburn all had fine runs, finishing in 1:23:41, 1:24:25 and 1:24:26 respectively, PB’s for both Rachael and Martina.
Paul Kelly had a fine run of 1:23:45. Pauric Mitchell was just two seconds behind crossing the finish line in a time of 1:24:28.
Hot on his heels was Tommy Hill with a strong run of 1:24:32. Amanda McNulty ran her first ever ten-mile race in 1:27:11.
Elaine Gallagher had a brilliant run finishing in 1:28:41. Fiona Temple also had a good first run out of 2019, crossing the line in 1:34:36.
Georgina Dill crossed the line in 1:40:12. Bridie Devenney had a good run finishing in 1:54:49, great to see Andrea McGettigan back in action and running with Bridie!
Olympian Track and Field Meet, Templemore Sports Complex
Kathyrn McDevitt was back in athletic action on Sunday at a very wet track and field meet at Templemore Sports Complex in Derry. Kathyrn was the winner of the Masters Long Jump event.
She also put in a great performance in the 200m Sprint event, finishing in 2nd place, just pipped on the line.
