Another busy weekend of action lies ahead with all attentions on Saturday focused on two of our sides who are in National Cup action.
The Michael Boyle managed under-13s travel to play St Joseph’s Boys in Dublin in the last 16 of the SFAI Cup while the Youths are at home to another Dublin side in Mountview Boys at the Aura in a last 32 clash in the FAI Youth Cup. Best of luck to both teams with both matches kicking off at 2pm.
Last weekend was a quiet one on the field but resulted in mixed results. Our Youths advanced in the Gorey Curran Cup defeating Fanad on penalties after the game ended 1-1 after extra time. Conor Lynch was the goalscorer while successful spot kicks were taken by Ciaran Daffan, Zac Gorman, David O’Donnell and Daire Morrison.
Our seniors lost out 3-2 at Drumoghill in the Knockalla Cup. Goalscorers were Steve Okakpo-Emeka and Terence Shiels and they will be hoping to bounce back when they travel to play Swilly Rovers on Sunday in the league with kickoff at 2pm.
The seniors have been handed a home tie against Killester in the quarter finals of the FAI Intermediate cup. That tie will be played on Sunday week, February 28, at Leckview with a 2pm kick-off.
Elsewere this week the under-12s Crusaders face Gweedore Celtic Cosmos at the Aura back pitch on Sunday morning at 10:15am.
The club’s AGM will take place on Friday February 26th at the Station House Hotel at 7:30pm. All motions to be with secretary Eric White by this Friday, February 19.
The Last Man standing is down to the last four and hostilities will resume there after the FA cup break.
Mini Lotto Numbers drawn this week are are 7, 8, 14 and 17.
