THE LETTERKENNY RFC U-15 GIRLS cleaned up in the half-time match winning by five tries against Ballinasloe when they played at the Women’s Six Nations game in Donnybrook.
The team from Dave Gallaher Memorial Park and their counterparts from Galway provided the half-time entertainment on Saturday in the Ireland women’s win over Wales, which Ireland won 21-3. Cappry native Larissa Muldoon was scrum-half in that victory, with Nora Stapelton from Fahan joining the action as a second half replacement.

Letterkenny represented Ulster against Connaught’s team Ballinasloe. The Letterkenny girls were the slicker outfit and as predicted they got their first win. With Mia Alcorn playing a blinder and scoring four tries, the team played as a team and won as a team. Tara Duffy scored a great solo try and showed that she is no slouch when she gets a head of steam.

The girls never gave Ballinasloe a chance they put their opposition under pressure from the word go, Chloe Wasson, Kelley Higgins, Shannen Wilkin, Jade Duffy and skipper Emma Curran.
Every one played their part and won’t forget this day for a long long time. What a day with both Nora Stapleton and Larissa Muldoon both taking time out to sign balls flags and jerseys as well as selfies by the dozen, not to mention just chatting to the girls. Most of the U-18 girls team travelled just to watch the two matches and support their Under 15 girls and they enjoyed the international as well as meeting players from the Ireland ladies team.
It was an inspiration for these girls to watch their idols from the Ireland ladies team having victory over Wales and like the Irish ladies, our Letterkenny Ladies were just unstoppable.
Well done to all the girls, their coaches Allen McCrea, Seamus Culhane and James Sparkes and to all the parents who travelled.
