Last Friday saw the end of the Hurling Training Week which was a huge success with children from 4-14 years taking part. Even the damp weather on the first day didn’t spoil their fun.
Three of the Gaels Minor Hurlers Brian Diver, Brendan Finney and Cathair Doherty, all of whom played Minor and U17 Hurling for County, and one of our Camogie players, Caoimhe Doherty, who also represented the County at U16 Camogie were the coaches for the week.
The training week was supervised by Dan Harnett, Stephen Doherty and Sharon Harnett.

The appearance of Ulster Hurler Kevin Hinphey on Thursday was a definite hit with all at the training week.
The highlight of the week was definitely the barbeque on Friday where players and coaches alike enjoyed the burgers and hot dogs which were cooked to perfection by guest chef Stephen Doherty.

A big thank you to all the coaches, the parents who helped make the barbeque a success, to Clive Alcorn for supplying the barbeque, to Edel Margey for taking the large amounts of photographs and last but definitely not least to all those who took part in the Training Week.
A great time was had by all.
Hurling training continues every Thursday evening at Pairc na nGael from 6.30-7.30pm. The training is open to all and new members are always welcome. Hurls and helmets will be provided.
