RED HUGHS minor ladies won the Division 3 title for a second year on Sunday morning after a tight and competitive final.
Red Hughs defeated Gaeil Fhánada by 3-11 to 2-12 in Burt.
Red Hughs gave everything they had throughout the game even losing a player in each half to sin bins didn’t faze them.
Red Highs went in 6 points up at half time but Fanad mounted a strong comeback in the second half.
Fanad led by a point going into injury time but Red Hughss showed great composure to create one last chance.
Aimee Lafferty was brought down for a penalty and Niamh Browne confidently converted it to win the game.
This young group of players and management have put in a lot of work over the last two years and it’s a great achievement for them to win back-to-back minor titles – especially in the club’s centenary year.
