First-half tries from Sene Naoupu and Sophie Spence sent Ireland on their way with Niamh Briggs’ kicking again to the fore.
Scrum-half Muldoon, from Cappry in Ballybofey, played 74 minutes in the win that will have been special given that she plays rugby in Wales for Skewen.
There a second-half appearance, first as a blood sub and then as a 58th minute sub, for Fahan’s Nora Stapleton, while Jackie Shiels played the last 14 minutes. Shiels hails from Meath, but her mother – Sarah McGinty – is a native of Donegal town.
Ireland got their opening try when Naoupu surged from outside the 22 to score just to the right of the posts.
Briggs’ conversion extended the lead and Ireland were well on their way when Spence leapt over in the corner after Briggs spotted a gap.
Ireland won the Grand Slam in 2013 and won the Championship in 2015.
