MATTHEW McClean scored 0-11 as Kilcar proved too strong for Glenswilly this afternoon in Division 1.

McClean started as he meant to go on is game with four points in the opening eleven minutes, finishing with a total of 0-11, seven from frees and four from play.
Kilcar started impressively and had ten points scored in the first 20 minutes without a reply from the home team.
Both teams were short a number of first choice players but Kilcar’s depth is stronger and they dominated throughout.
Shane McDevitt (0-5) was excellent for Glenswilly and another bonus for them was to see Gary McFadden make his first start since returning from a long term injury. The former Donegal panelist scored 0-4.
McClean’s early blast of scores were backed up by others by a brace from Ryan O’Donnell, and a point apiece from Mark McHugh, Jason Campbell, Oran Doogan and Eoin Cormack.
Shane McDevitt finally got Glenswilly’s first point in the 20th minute but McClean replied immediately before Ryan Diver and McDevitt points left it 0-03 to 0-11 in the 25th minute.
Kilcar ended the half as they had started, Darragh O’Donnell and Mark McHugh pointed from play.
Michael Hegarty took a pass from Ciaran McGinley to blast the game’s first goal past Phillip O’Donnell and Hegarty and McHugh pointed from play to leave it 0-03 to 1-15 at half-time.
Ciaran McGinley and two more from McClean extended the lead further but to their credit Glenswilly competed well in the second-half, led by McDevitt and McFadden and scored five of the next eight points in the game.
However Matthew McClean kept the scoreboard ticking over for Kilcar with a little help from others and by the time sub Gary Molloy slammed home Kilcar’s second goal the game was well gone from the home team.
Wing backs Ryan O Donnell 0-3 and Oran Doogan 0-1 were also impressive and for the 40 minutes he played Mark McHugh controlled the game from midfield.
