KILCAR CAME OUT on top against St Eunan’s in Towney this afternoon as the Letterkenny side’s fightback fell just short.
Kilcar 1-8 St Eunan’s 0-10
Maxi Curran’s team were 1-7 to 0-3 down at the break, with Kilcar having a slight first half breeze in slippery conditions following a heavy shower before throw-in. The hosts’ goal came on 20 minutes when Mark Sweeney smashed past Blake Forkan in the St Eunan’s goal.
The scoreboard was kept ticking over by the likes of Ashley Carr and Matthew McClean. Aaron Deeney, Rory Kavanagh and a free from Conor Gibbons was the sum total of the St Eunan’s first half.
Gibbons led the St Eunan’s second half revival with Conor Parke also venturing forward to score but in the end their deficit was just too much and a Carr score for Kilcar proved vital.
